Google Nexus 6 with QHD Display and Snapdragon 805 Soc announced

Google has finally confirmed the rumours and announced the Nexus 6 phablet device. The Google Nexus 6 is the first phablet sized nexus device; inspired by the design of the New Moto X smartphone and made in collaboration with Motorola. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box and a Snapdragon 805 chipset is present under the hood ticking the device.

Moving to the specs, the phablet sized Google Nexus 6 features a 5.96-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) display resulting in a pixel density of 493 ppi. The device is powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7 GHz with Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32/64GB of non-expandable internal storage.

On the rear is a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), dual-LED flash and a 2MP front facing snapper. As earlier mentioned, the Nexus 6 would run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and packs. A non-removable 3200mAh battery. The Google Nexus 6 allows users charge their smartphones within 15 minutes and get 6 hours of usage using the Turbo Charging feature.

The device would be available in two colour options – Midnight Blue and Cloud White. Pre-orders for the Nexus 6 would start on October 29 and sales expected to come weeks later in November. AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, US Cellular and Sprint were announced by Google as network carriers for the device. The 32GB Sim free unlocked version can be purchased on Google Play Store for $649 in the aforementioned colour options.
