World’s number one search engine, Google has opened its first world’s first shopping experience centre or retail store in London. The store which is called the Google Shop is located at Currys PC World in London’s Tottenham Court Road. Companies like Apple, Samsung and Microsoft have different stores concentrated in a Country (Microsoft in the US) or scattered across the World (Apple, Samsung, etc).
Google Shop offers users the chance to buy Google products such as Chromebook laptops, Chromesasts, Android and Tablets from Google; and they can also learn how each device works together to make living seamless. The shop is expected to offer different classes and events to the general public also on effective searching and online security.
Virtual Space Camps will be offered to teach children the basic of coding and there are different in-store experiences that awaits customers such as a Doodle Wall for graffiti artists to make their own Google Logo and the they can share on social media; users can also virtually enjoy different locations using Google Earth; and also a Chromecast pod where users can watch Youtube and Google Play Movies.
Commenting on opening its first Shop outlet, Google UK Marketing Director, James Elias had this to say;
“We’re incredibly excited to launch this space – the first of its kind anywhere in the world – in London with Currys PC World. The pace of innovation of the devices we all use is incredible, yet the way we buy them has remained the same for years.
With the Google shop, we want to offer people a place where they can play, experiment and learn about all of what Google has to offer; from an incredible range of devices to a totally connected, seamless online life.
We think it’s a genuinely unique try-before-you-buy experience.”
Google is expected to open two more locations in the UK which would be housed in Currys PC World’s Fulham and Thurrock Megastores respectively.
