Rumour: Google Pixel C Android tablet with 10.2-inch Screen and USB Type-C Port in the works

Google will officially announce new phones under the Nexus brand – the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P at a special event today (September 29) in California. Also expected at the event is the announcement of a new/updated Chromecast and a host of other surprises.

According to a new report, Google could announce a new tablet too but it won’t follow the Nexus branding but rather will be called the Google Pixel C or just Pixel C. The 2-in-1 tablet will either go official at the event or could launch standalone before the end of the year (November tipped).

The Pixel branding from Google has been associated with the high-end Chromebooks but this tablet won’t run Chrome OS but rather Android OS and we don’t see anything other than Android Marshmallow. The slate will also have two optional keyboard accessories – a Leather one and an Aluminium one.

Both keyboard will attach to the Google Pixel C Android tablet through a special mechanism and like most 2-in-1 tablets it would also double as a laptop thanks to the accessory. In terms of specs, the tablet sports a 10.2-inch touchscreen display (resolution unknown) with a pixel density of 304ppi. The rest of the specs includes – a quad-core Nvidia Tegra X1 chipset and Maxwell GPU, 3GB of RAM and USB Type-C Port.
