If you are one of those who don’t like the real hangouts app, Google has quietly released a new invite-only app for such purpose called ‘Who’s Down‘; this app helps them to hang out with real people. The search giant currently lags behind in the messaging app segment which Facebook has made their own literally with Whatsapp and Messenger.
Back to the app at hand, Who’s Down is specially aimed at youth demography and is one of those apps you could download but forget about it so soon. With the app, you can broadcast your availability for several purposes be it sports, partying, fishing, clubbing, dinner or others; and slide down to see who is down to hangout with you.
Conversations within the app disappears within 24 hours of non-activity. It currently available to Android and iOS platforms but requires an invite to join, a familiar concept used by Facebook and Google (for Gmail) back in 2004.
In the process of signing up (requesting for the invites per say) you will be asked to provide your email address and school name. Once that is done, a pop up comes prompting the user to wait for the access codes which would be sent by mail at a later time. Google’s Who’s Down should not be confused with the Down (previously Bang With Friends).
