GPLUS has announced a new voice calling tablet – the GPLUS FL8005A. The new offering from the Taiwanese company asides having the ability to make voice calls, it also supports 4G LTE and runs Android Lollipop OS.
Moving to the technical specs, the GPLUS FL8005A features a 8-inch IPS TFT display with a resolution of 1280 X 800. Under the hood, there is a 64-bit Qualcomm snapdragon 410 MSM8916 processor which clocks at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage (7.5GB listed). There is a microSD card slot on board for storage expansion.
The main camera is a 8MP unit with CMOS sensor, LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with CMOS sensor is on-board. Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0, micro USB, GPS/A-GPS and 4G LTE. The device uses a single SIM card slot and supports LTE Cat.4 bands (up to 150Mbps download speed).
The GPLUS FL8005A runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and is backed by a built-in 3700mAh battery. It measures 122 x 213 x 8 mm, weighs 340 grams and is expected to be available in Black and White Colour options. Pricing details is unknown but the LTE-Based voice calling tablet would be available in Taiwan for a sub-$250 price tag.
