It’s just the first month of the year and we are starting to see weird phones popping up. The Heart 401AB would definitely be one of the weirdest device that will pop on in 2015. It is a Japan exclusive device and would be offered by Japanese Mobile Carrier – Ymobile in March 2015.
TIDBIT: Ymobile utilises PHS network which means it supports voice calls only.
The Heart 401AB is a heart shaped device and makes only calls. When I say only calls, I mean it doesn’t send text, no camera, no connectivity and the likes – it only makes calls.
You will agree with me that the shape is odd but there is more to it; it uses a twisting motion to transform the device from heart shape to peanut shape to make calls. The USB charge which accompanies the device is as you have guessed also heart shaped.
Specs wise, the Heart 401AB features a 0.9-inch monochrome 128 x 26 display, a phonebook which saves up to 100 contacts, support for hands-free headset; measures 23mm in thickness and weighs 54 grams. The device reportedly takes around 3 hours to charge full, has 160 hours of standby time and two hours of continous talktime.
A smartphone app which transfers contacts is available, the app uses sensors to operate. Also in celebration of the Sailor Moon 25th anniversary; a Sailor Moon edition would be available. This edition will bring official Sailor Moon stickers and a complimentary Moon Stick.
