Hisense U988 with 5.5-inch HD display and 8MP camera costs 199 Euro

The Hisense U988 (HS-U988) is a new smartphone destined for the Italian market; the device succeeds the Hisense U980 (HS-U980) which was announced into the same market last year. The phablet sized device sports specs in the lower midrange family and supports Dual SIM functionality.

The Hisense U988 sports a 5.5-inch capacitive LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz (possibly from Qualcomm) with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion up to 32GB. 

On the rear is a 8 Megapixels camera with LED flash, a front camera is a 2 Megapixels camera for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options on the device includes – microUSB 2.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Wi-fi Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G/WCDMA, FM Radio and GSM. 

Sensor option includes Proximity Sensor, G-Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor and Magnetic Field Sensor. The device disspointedly runs the steady-dating Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, measures 151 x 75.5 x 8.4mm, supports Dual SIM functionality with Dual Standby and is backed by a 2500mAh battery. The Hisense U988 is currently available for about 199 Euro in Italy.

  1. Hi friends,
    HS-U988 model of hisense mobile hardware is so cheap and i have a problem with the shacking, motion and calibration sensor. The orientation is very poor, it shows me vertical calibration when the mobile is horizontal and the tilt functionality is not working.

  2. When taking picture I can see the image on the screen but when I took a photo I cannot see anything and some photos keeps coming back after I deleted it.and I cannot download anything on my ywatsap application.

    1. Try restarting your phone and see. if you are using not using a microSD card, try adding one but if not, try adding extra storage.
