Huawei’s Honor has unveiled a new budget smartphone called the Honor Play 8A in China . The Play series device has a double-match body design, waterdrop notch and arrives in Aurora Blue, Glamorous Red, Phantom Night Black and Platinum Gold colour options.
The Honor Play 8A sports a 6.09-inch (1560 x 720 pixels) HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 87% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by Mediatek’s Helio P35 12nm octa-core processor – same used on Xiaomi’s Mi Play, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage.
Photography is handled by a single 13MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash, and a 8MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Unlike the Xiaomi Mi Play, it lacks a fingerprint sensor but comes with Face unlock as well as the usual PIN, Pattern and Password.
The Honor Play 8A boots EMUI 9.0 (based on Android 9 Pie), supports 4G LTE connectivity and depends on a lasting 3,020mAh battery. The 32GB variant is currently on sale for CNY 799 (~ USD 119) will the 64GB variant costs CNY 999 (~ USD 148).
