Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand has unveiled the Honor WaterPlay 8 with IP67-rating (water and dust resistant) and dual rear cameras. This model packs a unibody metal design, fingerprint sensor in the home button and Huawei’s Kirin 659 octa-core chipset stays the same.
The new Honor WaterPlay 8 has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA), pixel density of 238 ppi and over 70% NTSC Color Gamut. It packs 4GB of RAM with either 64GB or 128GB built-in storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB.
The tablet is equipped with 13MP (f/2.2) + 5MP (f/2.4) dual rear cameras and a front 8MP (f/2.0) camera for selfies and face unlock. It boots Android 8.0 Oreo OS with EMUI 8.0 on top and depends on a 5,100mAh battery with support for fast charging (9V/2A).
Available in Gold and Silver colours, the Honor WaterPlay 8 has a 4G LTE model with support for voice calling and also packs stereo speakers with Huawei’s Histen 5.0 3D audio technology.
The Wi-Fi model costs CNY 1,499 (US$ 217) for the 64GB Wi-Fi version; CNY 1,899 (US$ 275) for the 128GB Wi-Fi model and CNY 1,799 (US$ 261) for the 64GB 4G LTE model. It will go in sale from November 6.
