Alongside the Honor 7X Dual-Camera smartphone, Honor also unveiled its first IP67-certified (water and dust resistant) tablet – the Honor WaterPlay. The slate has a metal unibody design, 10.1-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) WUXGA display with 70% NTSC Color Gamut and 6,660mAh battery with 9V/2A (18W) fast charging (goes up to 100% in 2.5 hours).
Pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat OS with EMUI 5.1, the Honor WaterPlay packs the octa-core Kirin 659 processor (found on the Honor 7X) paired with either 3GB/32GB or 4GB/64GB RAM and storage. It is equipped with a microSD card slot (up to 256GB) and fingerprint sensor (home button).
The tablet also features a 3.5 mm audio jack, stereo speakers with harman / kardon audio technology and Huawei Histen 3D audio technology, rear 8MP camera, front camera and USB Type-C port. It measures 248 x 173 x 7.8 mm, weighs 465 grams and some models supports 4G LTE connectivity.
The Honor WaterPlay is priced starting at CNY 1,999 (US$ 303) for the 3GB RAM (Wi-Fi only) model; CNY 2,399 (US$ 364) for the 4GB RAM (Wi-Fi only) models and CNY 2,699 (US$ 410) for the other 4GB RAM (LTE + Wi-Fi) models. Sales commence from October 24 in China; and Champagne Gold and Silver are available colour options.
