You might have been seeing people buying data not directly from MTN but from other vendors. Or you have seen so many broadcast messages across all social media platforms with different Seller advertising his or her MTN Data for Sale? All of these are made possible via the MTN SME Data Share.

The MTN SME Data Share is not a new initiative and several Nigerians have bought into the idea and more are still observing to see how it is. Whichever category you fall into you can also pick one or two information from the writeup.

What is the MTN SME Data Share

The MTN SME Data Share is a prepaid service that allows business owners buy  data bundles and share with their staffs. But in reality as long as you can afford to buy the bulk data bundle you can sell it in bit to different interested buyers.

How To Join and Buy Data.

To Join the MTN SME Data Share, you have to migrate to the tariff by 406 to 131. After successfully migrating, you can then buy data bundles in Large quantities from MTN. 

Initially when the program started MTN allowed sharing data less than 1GB but that has been stopped now. Only Data staring from 1GB and above can be shared using this platform.

Here is the full list of various data subscription plans you can indulge in  buying.

• For N10,000 you can purchase 10GB of Data. To do this simply Text 465 to 131 or  dial *461# and follow the prompt.

• For N18,000 you can purchase 20GB of Data. To do this simply Text 466 to 131 or dial *461# and follow the prompt.

• For N40,500 you can purchase 50GB of Data. To do this simply Text 467 to 131 or dial *461# and follow the prompt.

• And for 52,500 you can purchase 75GB of Data. To do this simply Text 468 to 131 or dial *461# and follow the voice prompt.

How To Sell or Share Data.

Once you have purchased your data successfully, you can either check you balance sending DATABALANCE to 131 or by dialling *461# . To Share or Resell the data bought it has almost the same format as Transferring credit from one line to another except here the keywords have changed. 

The correct formats usable are. –  sending an SMS with the format – SMESHARE or by Dialling *461# and following the prompt. To use the SMS format Data must be sent in Multiples Eg 1GB – 1000, 2GB – 2000, 3GB – 3000 and 5GB – 5000.

Thus your message would be in form of – SMESHARE 0703XXXXXXX 1000 1234 to 131.

NOTE:
All data purchases can only be made via recharge cards.
All data has an expiry date of 30 days.
