Both Blackberry and Paypal have teamed up to bring Peer-to-Peer (P2P) to BBM, this would see payments being sent over BBM chats and conversations.
This feature is already available to select Canadian users currently using BBM on Android, Blackberry 10 and iOS phones.
How To Send and Receive Money on Paypal Using BBM
To send and receive money on Paypal using BBM, both the sender and receiver have to connect their BBM accounts to their Paypal accounts, this can be done by selecting the Paypal ‘Send Money’ icon in BBM.
Once the accounts are connected, to starting send money click on the Paypal Icon, enter the of money, cross check the details and tap the send button. At the moment, only selected BBM Users in Canada have access to this feature, however, it would be available to more regions in coming weeks.
On a final note, Since Paypal only allows making payments but not receiving money in Nigeria and some other African countries, so this feature is unlikely to make it down over here so soon.
But it is good to see Blackberry forging ahead in providing more software based solutions and slowly going back to being profitable as the Hardware section is not making much progress, if any at all.
