HP has announced two new business oriented tablets – the HP Pro Slate 12 and Pro Slate 8. Both tablets comes with a 4:3 aspect ratio and powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Both slates measures 8.0mm in thickness, dual front facing speakers and “Duet Pen“.
The Duet Pen allows users write on the tablet screen and also on paper or any writing surface. With the HP Folio Case it also allows the user also write on paper and the information is transferable to the tablet. HP also utilises Qualcomm’s technology on this – it uses a four microphones on the slate that can hear ultra-high sounds emitted from the Pen. HP is the first company to take advantage of this technology from Qualcomm.
The HP Pro Slate 12 features a massive 12.3-inch 1600 x 1200 pixels display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and has a pixel density of 163ppi. The HP Pro Slate 8 on the other hand features a 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 pixels display and protected by Gorilla Glass 4. The slate has a pixel density of 326ppi.
Both slates are available from HP, but it has not yet been listed up on the company’s online store; the Pro slate 8 is priced at $449 and the Pro Slate 12 is priced at $569.
