HP Pro Tablet 608 Business tablet with 2K display, Intel Cherry Trail CPU and Windows 10 announced

HP has taken the veil off a new 8-inch business focused high end tablet – the HP Pro Tablet 608. The slate would be the company’s first commercial tablet with Windows 10 OS on-board.

The HP Pro Tablet 608 G1 features a 7.9-inch (2048 x 1536 pixels) 2K display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, 4:3 aspect ratio,  weighs around 8.35mm thin and weighs 360 grams. Under the hood, it is powered by an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 Cherry Trail  processor with Intel HD graphics.

Handling task on the device is up to 4GB of RAM (either 2GB or 4GB of RAM) and there is 32GB, 64GB or 128GB space of internal storage. Despite the large storage space, there is still a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB. On the rear there is a 8MP camera without LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera. 

It also has Dual Stereo speakers, DTS Studio Sound, metal reinforced body build, Dual microphones and noise cancelling feature. The HP Pro Tablet 608 supports 4G LTE connectivity along with Miracast, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, WiDi, and NFC. 

There is an optional keyboard case and a portable travel dock with full-sized USB ports, HDMI port and Ethernet. The company promises around 8 hours of battery life for the slate. The Windows 8.1 OS version would be available by mid-July in the US for $479 and the Windows 10 OS version would be available by late August for the same amount.
