HP has announced a new affordable, convertible and durable laptop designed for learning called the HP ProBook x360 11 Education Edition (or HP ProBook x360 11 EE). It is powered by Windows 10 OS and will be available worldwide for a price tag of US$ 329 starting December 16.
Sporting an 11.6-inch touchscreen display with built-in feature like Windows Ink, the HP ProBook x360 11 Education Edition is encased in hard, industrial rubber for extra durability and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It can be used in four modes and has a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
On the inside, the laptop relies on either the Pentium N4200 or Intel Celeron N3350 processor alongside 8GB RAM and 256GB built-in storage space. It comes equipped with a microSD card reader, USB Type C, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a headphone jack and Ethernet.
Other ‘student-friendly’ software features of the HP ProBook x360 11 EE includes – an optional active pen for art, math, note taking or highlighting; and an optional ‘explorer mode’ dual camera system which uses a 1080p HD camera embedded on the keyboard deck to let students take video in tablet mode while viewing what they’re recording in real-time.
Teachers can take advantage of the ‘Take a Test app’ built into Windows 10, which includes simple yet secure features for modern test-taking and “Set up School PCs” app, for quicker and easier setting up of devices in three easy steps without any dedicated IT support.
The HP ProBook x360 11 Education Edition lasts up to 11 hours of usage on a single charge and most of its software features are built around Windows 10 Anniversary update.
