HP Slate 7 Beats Special Edition tablet Goes Official for $250

Hewlett Packard (HP) is launching another 7-inch Android tablet into the market with the moniker, the HP Slate 7 Beats Special Edition. The tablet shares same specs with the HP Slate 7 Extreme but HP has joined hands with headphones and Audio products maker, Beats Electronics. It is suffice to know that the HP Slate 8 Extreme was built based on NVIDIA Tegra Note 7 reference design.

The HP Slate 7 Beats Special Edition sports a 7 inch (1280 × 800 pixels) IPS LCD, 1.8GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 quad-core processor (T40s), 1GB RAM (LPDDR3), 16GB ROM and Micro SD card support. Other features includes front facing stereo speakers, NVIDIA DirectStylus pen, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, Micro HDMI output terminal (4K output support) and micro USB. The slae is powered by a 4100mAh battery; it is touted to deliver around 9 hours of normal usage.

The HP Slate 7 Beats Special Edition measures 200 × 120 × 9.4mm, weighs 350g and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. The device is said to be compatible with “NVIDIA Direct Stylus; which means the Stylus pen can be used to draw pictures or write characters on the display.

The tablet is expected to go on sale in Japan starting September 26th for 25,000 yen (around $233 USD) and available in the US for $250 USD. The HP Slate 7 Beats Special Edition is available in Red colour option only.
