HP has announced a new low cost Windows 8.1 laptop, dubbed the ‘Stream 14’ with Chromebook like specs.
The HP Stream 14 features a 14-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) resolution BrightView WLED-backlit non-touchscreen display, powered by a a 1GHz quad-core AMD A4 Micro-6400T processor with a 350MHz Radeon R3 GPU (2MB cache), and 2GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM. The laptop sports beat speakers, HP TrueVision front facing HD webcam with integrated digital microphone.
The device sports 32GB internal storage, a microSD card slot for storage expansion, 20GB of Dropbox storage for 6 months and with the device coming with low hard disk drive Microsoft is offering 100GB of Microsoft OneDrive subscription for two years. Some of the pre-installed softwares includes Skype, Evernote, Netflix, Adobe Shockwave player and Trip advisor.
The HP Stream 14 runs on 64-Bit Windows 8.1, measures 344 x 240 x 17.8mm, weighs 1.75kgs and powered by a 3-cell, 32Wh Li-ion polymer battery. Connectivity options on the device includes – Card reader, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI port, 1 x USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n.
The HP Stream 14 is listed on HP UK’s website with a $300 (N49,000 in Naira) price tag; also with detailed information and features. The device wouldbe available in Leon Purple, Grass Green and Modern Silver.
