Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced two budget Android Tablets for entry-level users in France. The HP 7 G2 (HP Tablet 7 G2) and the HP 8 G2 entry level budget slates surfaced recently with impressive specs IPS screen and support for microSD card slot.
HP 7 G2
The HP Tablet 7 G2 sports 7 inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.2GHz Allwinner A33 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. The slate has a 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front- facing camera, mono speaker, Wi-Fi 802.11n, 3.5mm Audio Jack, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.
The HP 7 G2 measures 188 x 101.6 x 8.63mm, weighs 255 grams and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat software. The slate is said to be powered by a 11.25W/h battery which is touted to have a battery life of 5.5 hours of usage. The HP 7 G2 is available for a retail price of around $145 in France.
HP 8 G2
Thought the HP 8 G2 is also a budget tablet but it has a slightly larger display and more storage compared to the HP 7 G2. The Slate features same processor, camera and connectivity features. Other features includes a 7.85-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) IPS display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a microSD card slot for expansion (up to 32GB).
Other features includes – stereo speakers, measures 203.2 x 137 x 8.13mm and weighs 371grams and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. The slate is powered by a 15W/h battery which is expected to last about 7 hours of usage. The HP 8 G2 is available for a retail price of around $230 in France.
Both tablets comes pre-loaded with all Google Suite apps (Gmail, Google+, Google Maps, Google Play Store, Google Talk, Google Sync, Google Chrome and Google Street View, Skype, YouTube), HP Connected Photo app, Adobe Reader and more. Both the HP 7 G2 and the HP 8 G2 could launch in different countries under another name. A 7-inch premium version of the HP 7 G2 known as the HP 7 Plus G2 is also rumoured to launch soon.
