HTC A12 is an upcoming mid-range smartphone with Snapdragon 410 chipset

The rumoured specs of a supposed upcoming mid-range smartphone from HTC has been making rounds thanks to popular tipster, @upleaks. The smartphone in question is simply known by the codename – HTC A12 and it’s expected to go official by February 2015.

The HTC A12 is said to be the smaller successor of the Desire 620; instead of a 5-inch display it has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display with 1GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity is not mentioned but it is expected to be expandable via a microSd card slot.

The device uses a 64-bit Qualcomm snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) quad-core chipset with 1.2GHz CPU. The HTC A12 has a rear 8 megapixels camera with LED flash, a front facing 1.3 megapixels camera for selfies and video chats. The device measures 139.8 x 69.5 x 9.5 mm in dimensions and relies on a 2100mAh capacity battery for energy. It would run on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS out-of-the-box with the company’s Sense UI ontop.

The HTC A12 would be available in the US by February 2015 on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile US and Sprint networks. There is no word on the official pricing details and other specs details should be available by launch date.
