The HTC One M8s surfaced some weeks ago as the One M8i; then we thought it was going to be the HTC One Mini 3 or the HTC One M9 Mini.

The Quad-core Qualcomm snapdragon 801 processor of last year has been replaced with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm snapdragon 615 processor. The 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor uses four cortex-A57 cores @ 1.7Ghz and four cortex-A5 cores @ 1GHz.

Other specs details of the device includes – 5-inch Full HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot (up to 128GB more space), a front 5MP camera, the main camera has a Duo setup (13MP + 2MP) with Dual LED flash, NFC, Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Sense 7 UI, LTE, Bluetooth 4.1 and 3000mAh battery.

According to HTC Benelux director Mark Moons;

the SoC change was needed in order for the company to continue selling the One (M8)’s hardware. He also stressed that the Snapdragon 615 is a newer part, and it’s 64-bit.

The HTC One M8s is expected to be available in Europe – Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg (BE-NE-LUX) for now. It is also expected to be available in Asia. Pricing is not know yet but since the One M9 sells for around €749 in the EU, the One m8s is expected to be around €499.
