HTC has introduced the Butterfly 2 smartphone for South Asian markets, the same device debuted in Japan as the HTC J Butterfly on KDDI. The device is set to be available in other Asian markets including Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
The HTC Butterfly 2 features a 5-inch 1080p fullHD display, powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB variant of internal storage though both are expandable up to 128GB via microSD. There is a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 5MP front camera on the device.
Connectivity details includes – GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, NFC, micro USB with MHL and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with DLNA. Sensor options include – accelerometer, barometer, Ambient light, gyroscope and proximity sensor.
The HTC Butterfly 2 measures 145.4 x 70.2 x 9.99mm, weighs 151 grams and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with HTC’s Sense 6.0 ontop. The device is powered by a 2700mAh battery which provides 643 hours of standby time and 23.9 hours of talktime on 3G.
The Butterfly 2 is water & dust resistant, features HTC’s Boomsound stereo speakers, the company also collaborated with Harman Kardon to feature the LiveStage Signal Processing Technology on this device.

The HTC Butterfly 2 would be available on September 2 starting from Taiwan and would be gradually expanded to Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore & Thailand. No pricing details was however announced along with this device but it would be available in Red, Blue and White colour options.
