HTC Butterfly 3 is the global version of the HTC J Butterfly HTV31

HTC has officially announced the HTC Butterfly 3 – the global version of the Japan-Exclusive HTC J Butterfly HTV31. It will be available starting October 20th in Taiwan for TWD 19,900 (USD 603 or EUR 536) in three colour options – Black, Indigo and White. 

Running Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with HTC Sense UI ontop, the HTC Butterfly 3 sports a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD) with a pixel density of 565ppi and has front facing Boomsound stereo speakers located at the top and bottom display bezels.

The device is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-core MSM8994 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 200GB.

Handling photography on the HTC Butterfly 3 is a front facing 13MP camera for selfies and a rear facing 20.2 Duo Camera setup with Dual LED flash and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). It is equipped with IP57 certification for Dustproof and Waterproof. 

Connectivity options on the device includes – NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS and 4G LTE (LTE Cat.6 and LTE-A). The HTC Butterfly 3 dons a single SIM slot and is backed by a reasonable 2700mAh battery.  

Update: HTC’s Senior Global Online Communication Manager has clarified reports that the HTC Butterfly 3 will available internationally instead it will be available in Japan and Taiwan.
