Some weeks ago, we got wind of a yet-to-be announced desire range device from HTC – the HTC Desire 626 thanks to tipster @upleaks. The afromentioned device has now made its way to Chinese Certification agency, TENAA which confirms its existence, shows most of the key specs and means the device is nearer to its launch date.
The listing confirms that the HTC Desire 626 would have a MediaTek chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, a front facing 5MP camera and a main 13MP camera with LED flash.
The device would have a microSD slot for expansion purpose (up to 128GB), runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS (Android 5.0 Lollipop OS upgrade promised) and supports LTE. It’s dimensions stand at 146.9 x 70.9 x 8.19mm, weighs 135 grams and is backed by a 2000mAh battery.
Even though some of the specs are in line with what we heard before; the device was said to have two chipset and memory versions: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (64-bit) has 1GB of RAM and the octa-core MediaTek version has 2GB of RAM.
Leaving that aside, most of the specs has nearly all semblance with the HTC Desire 826. The notable difference between the HTC Desire 626 and 826 is that the latter is bigger and has a 5.5-inch display. All we know is the device would surely be available in China, other information are not detailed for now.
