HTC has announced the Desire 626G+ smartphone for the Indian market; the device seems to be a variant of the HTC Desire 626 which debuted in Taiwan around February.
One major difference between the HTC Desire 626 and Desire 626G+ is that the former supports LTE connectivity while the latter tops at 3G (HSPA 21MBps).
As expected from the Desire range of devices, the HTC Desire 626G+ comes with midrange specs. It sports a 5-inch (720 X 1280 pixels) HD touchscreen display, powered by an octa-core processor (possibly MediaTek) which clocks at 1.7GHz with 1GB of RAM, 8GB sapce of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
On the rear there is a 13MP camera unit and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device includes – 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, micro USB 2.0 and Bluetooth. It runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS with HTC Sense UI ontop, supports Dual SIM functionality and is backed by a 2000mAh battery.
The HTC Desire 626G+ is priced at Rs 16,900 (which is equivalent to around $271 or €250) in White Birch and Blue Lagoon dual tone colour options. It is expected to compete against the likes of the Moto G (Gen 2), Microsoft Lumia 640XL, Samsung Galaxy E7, Xiaomi Mi 4 (16GB) and HTC Desire 816G in the country.
