A mini version of the already announced HTC Desire 820 was spotted on HTC’s China website before the post was been taken down. The HTC Desire 820 Mini as the device is called is not so mini according to the listed specs.

According the listing, the HTC Desire 820 Mini would feature a 5-inch 720p HD display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (could be 64-bit like the Desire 820), 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 5MP front camera, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and would run on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS (possibly with the company’s Sense UI ontop). The device would also pack Dual front facing Boomsound speakers, Dual SIM functionality and 4G LTE connectivity.
The HTC Desire 820 Mini could go official anytime but you can’t help but wonder of it would be available in other markets except Asia and of course China. The listing confirms it would retail for a price tag of CNY 1399 (~ USD$228).
We would wait and see how things develop in coming days but looking at the specs you can’t help but wonder how a 5-inch screen sized device is being called ‘Mini’.
