When everybody thought HTC would announce the One M8 successor (HTC HIMA) at the CES 2015; the company has sticked with its promise of launching Desire smartphones at the event.
So far we have seen the HTC Desire 320 and the company has added another in form of the HTC Desire 826. It would actually be the first Desire range smartphone to run Android 5.0 Lollipop and would also have the company’s proprietary Sense UI on top.
The phablet sized HTC Desire 826 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display and has the Qualcomm snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB space of internal expandable storage and a microSD slot which allows up to 128GB memory.
On the back, you have a 13MP camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, BSI sensor, and capable of 1080p video recording. There is a front facing Ultrapixel camera onboard with wide angle lens and f/2.2 aperture. The HTC Desire 826 supports 4G LTE connectivity alongside Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 with AptX and 3G HSPA+.
The HTC Desire 826 measures 7.74mm in thickness, weighs 155 grams, Dual front facing Boomsound speakers with Dolby Audio, HTC EYE experience and depending on the market comes in Single SIM and Dual SIM variants. A 2600mAh battery keeps the device ticking.
Expect the HTC Desire 826 in four different colour options and would first be available in the Asia-Pacific markets with China being the first country to get it. There is no word on how much the device would cost for now but it’s not very common to see much influx of Desire smartphones in Nigeria so it’s is not expected very soon.
