HTC is well recognised by many for its smartphones but the company apparently makes tablets too, but not consistently. The Taiwanese company has a new 7-inch entry-level tablet in the works – HTC IV5001-A, which has been put through its paces n GFXbench benchmark website.
According to the listing, the HTC IV5001-A will have a 6.9-inch touchscreen display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) resulting in a pixel density of 213ppi. It relies on a quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
The tablet comes with 16GB built-in storage space out of which 13GB is user available and the inclusion of a microSD card slot for expansion is looking more likely. In the camera segment, there is a front facing 5-megapixel camera and rear facing 5-megapixel camera with AutoFocus and LED flash.
Both cameras are capable of recording 1080p Full HD videos. The HTC IV5001-A ticks all the dots in the connectivity aspect – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS and also NFC. It boots Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box. There are strong indications the tablet could turn out to be the HTC Desire T7 but we won’t be able to confirm this unless the tablet goes official.
