HTC has officially announced the HTC J Butterfly smartphone, the device which is confirmed to be a Japan exclusive. The device would be sold by one of the country’s major carriers.
The HTC J Butterfly (HTV31) was widely tipped to be the HTC Butterfly 3 and should not be mistaken for the KDDI-Exclusive HTC J Butterfly (HTL21) which was released last year. In terms of specs, the J Butterfly looks like a cross of the flagship, HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9+ smartphones.
Moving to the specs, just like its predecessors the HTC J Butterfly (HTV31) comes with a plastic body but it is dust-proof and waterproof. It sports a 5.2-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad-HD display resulting in a pixel density of 565ppi and is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM.
Internal storage on the device is tipped at 32GB space and there is a microSD card slot which supports cards up to 128GB. On the rear, the company uses a 20.2MP Duo camera setup which sees it record 4k videos and the front camera is a massive 13MP camera which would handle video chats and selfies.
Connectivity options on the device includes – Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, GPS, LTE and NFC. The HTC J Butterfly (HTV31) runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2700mAh battery.
