HTC has announced a special edition of the flagship HTC One M9 smartphone – the HTC One M9 24ct Gold Edition to celebrate the champions league final between the champions of Italy, Juventus and the champions of Spain, Barcelona.
The Limited Edition HTC One M9 has been given the 24ct (24 Carat Gold) treatment and it is engraved with the logo of the UEFA Champions league. The two clubs playing in the final also have their names engraved at the back along with the date (June 6), the location and stadium the match would take place.
HTC has already staged a competition which ended on May 27th to determine the two winners of the smartphone thus the Stadium seat number of the two winners are also engraved along on the back of the smartphone. This means the winner would not only collect the smartphone, they would also watch the match live in Berlin.
There is no word on the pricing of the HTC One M9 24ct Gold Edition smartphone which we don’t expect to have one considering this is not a market focused smartphone.
For those wondering why the HTC released a smartphone in honour of the UEFA Champions league tournament; the Taiwanese company is one of the sponsors for the tournament.
