The HTC One X9 has gone official in China less than a day an official teaser suggested it will launch this Christmas. The phablet sized device has the same processor as the HTC One ME which is the Mediatek Helio X10 SoC but is priced lesser than the HTC One A9.
The HTC One X9 borrows some of the design language of the One A9 with its aluminium metal body with an additional plastic band placed at the top. It sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with a screen-to-body ratio of 71.38% and three capacitive buttons below the display.
It measures 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.99 mm in dimensions and is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space. There is microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 2TB and the device itself is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
The battery is non-removable and is compatible with 5V / 1.5A fast-charging which is 30% faster than the 2V / 1A format but is still behind the 5V / 2A format used in current flagships. The device can last up to 40 hours of audio music playback, 10 hours of video playback and 15 hours of talk time on 3G.
The HTC One X9 packs rear facing 13MP camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and f/2.0 aperture that is capable of recording 4K videos and shoots RAW video; the front camera is a 5MP Fixed Focus snapper with f/2.0 aperture and is capable of shooting 1080p videos.
HTC fails to mention the version of Android the One X9 is based on, whether it is Lollipop or Marshmallow expect to see the company’s Sense UI ontop. The device also caters for the audiophiles with Dual Speakers with Dolby Surround sound system and also supports professional headphones.
The HTC One X9 is priced at CNY 2399 (about US$ 320) in China which is cheaper than the CNY 2799 (about US$ 432) charged for the HTC One A9. There is no word on any potential launch outside China; but if the device will be available internationally the processor may end up changing.
