The Taiwanese company has decided to release a plastic version of the HTC one M8, according to GSM Arena, the phone will be similar to the HTC One M8 in terms of design and hardware. This plastic version of the HTC One M8 will be priced lower than the company’s flagship phone.
HTC plans to release the phone as early as next month (May 2014) with added rumours coming up that the phone may be called HTC Butterfly. The premium HTC One M8 costs around $699 to $853 (currently sells between N113, 000 to N150, 000 in Nigeria) but this new plastic version will cost around $350 to $483 (between N57, 000 and N79, 000 in Nigerian Naira) when released.
Based on Specifications, the HTC One M8 features a 5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and Android 4.4. The phone also packs 2600 mAh battery, NFC, LTE, rear duo-camera, 5MP front camera and the usual connectivity options.
Much is seen whether people would be interested in a plastic version of the premium flagship version especially when the specs are going to be the same.
