Expected to premiere the MATE 9 at the IFA 2016, Huawei has announced two new premium looking mid-range smartphones in the all new NOVA series. The Huawei NOVA and NOVA Plus will be launched in Europe by early October for €399 and €429, respectively.
Moving to the specs, the Huawei NOVA sports a 5-inch FHD display, Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB RAM, fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C, Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano + Nano/microSD), and 32GB built-in expandable storage (up to 128GB via microSD).
In the camera segment, the NOVA has a rear 12MP camera with f2/2 aperture and 1.25 micron pixels while the front selfie snapper is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. It supports LTE Cat.6 networks, runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Emotion UI 4.1 on top and is backed by a 3020mAh battery.
As the naming convention suggests, the Huawei NOVA Plus is the slightly improved model of the NOVA. It sports a bigger 5.5-inch display with the same screen resolution, 16MP camera with OIS and backed by a larger 3340 mAh battery. The rest of the specs are similar to NOVA’s.
The Huawei NOVA is available in Mystic Silver, Prestige Gold, Rose Gold and Titanium Grey while the Huawei NOVA Plus skips the Rose Gold option. Both device have an aluminium metal body with 2.5D glass on top and DTS headphone X audio technology for an enhanced audio experience.
