Huawei Announced its new flagship device, the Ascend Mate 7 alongside the Ascend G7 at the ongoing IFA 2014 event in Berlin.
Huawei Ascend Mate 7
The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 features a 6-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display that offers 368ppi with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device is powered by a an octa-core (1.8GHz A15 + 1.3GHz A7) Kirin 925 SoC with Mali T628 GPU. There is a 2GB RAM variant which comes with 16GB internal storage and a 3GB RAM version which comes with 32GB internal storage; both can be expanded via microSD card slot.
On the rear is a 13MP camera with sony’s sensor and a 5MP front camera for selfies. Connectivity options include GPS/A-GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G HSPA+ and 4G LTE Cat.6.
The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 features a fingerprint scanner on the rear; it supports five sets of fingerprints in regular and guest modes. The fingerprint scanner not only protects access to the phone, it can also be used to encrypt certain files and folders to protect sensitive data. The scanner has a pixel density of 508ppi compared to 500ppi on the iPhone 5S.
The device measures 157 x 81 x 7.9mm, weighs 185 grams,runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with Emotion UI 3.0 on top and packs a 4100mAh Li-Polymer battery.
The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 would be available in over 30 markets around the world including UK, Spain, Italy, Hong kong, Germany, France and China. The 16GB variant costs €499 and the 32GB variant costs €599; all available in Obsidian Black, Moonlight Silver, and Amber Gold colour options.
Huawei also announced the Ascend Y550 and Ascend G620S with 4G LTE support at a friendly price tag.

The Huawei Ascend Y550 features a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 4GB of internal storage, up to 32GB via microSD card support, 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Huawei’s Emotion UI on top and a 2000mAh battery powers the device.
Huawei Ascend G620S
The Huawei Ascend G620S features a 5-inch display with HD resolution, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 8GB of internal memory, up to 32GB via microSD card, 8MP camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera for video calls. It also runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Emotion UI and a 2000mAh battery powers the device.
Both devices would be available in october but no price tag has been stated yet.
