Huawei Ascend Y540 quietly goes on sale in Europe

While Huawei hasn’t said a word about the Ascend Y540; the device has somehow made its way on sale in Europe (the Netherlands actually). The Huawei Ascend Y540 packs entry-level specs and is said to be available on the cheap.

The Huawei Ascend Y540 is looking like the successor of the Ascend Y530; it comes with Dual SIM support, a faster processor, and a Larger battery. It sports a 4.5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) WVGA display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor which clocks at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 4GB space of internal storage. 

There is a microSD card slot on-board for storage expansion (up to 32GB). To handle photography the device has a 5MP main camera with LED flash and a not-so-selfie front facing 0.3MP (VGA) camera for video calls. Connectivity options on the device includes – quadband GSM support, 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. 

It is backed by a 1950mAh battery, supports Dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat Os. The Ascend Y540 costs around €110 ($124).
