Huawei has announced a new 4G LTE wireless service that allows one turn a car into a hotspot (Wi-Fi hotspot). The Huawei CarFi as it is know plugs into the DC port of most cars and is similar to popular cellular hotspot devices around.
The Huawei CarFi can be used in any compatible vehicle, supports up to 10 devices at a time, it makes use of a SIM card which ensures it connection to 4G LTE network. The USB port on the device can also be used to charge up smartphones. The CarFi supports LTE Cat.4 which guarantees up to 150Mbps download speed.
The CarFi can not only charge smartphones, it can also be used to charge other devices compatible such as powerbank, etc. It automatically switches off when there is no Wi-Fi enabled device connected or discovered. It can be controlled via smartphones too – on iOS and Android; before this can be done user has to download the ‘Huawei HiLink’ from the Apple store and Play Store respectuively.
There is no word and pricing information on the Huawei CarFi; Warm Family Wood, Fashion Elite Black and Dynamic Speed Red are the available colour options.
