At the just concluded IFA 2018 event in Berlin, Huawei introduced the latest version of its EMUI Android Skin – the EMUI 9.0. It is based on the Android 9.0 Pie OS and expected to make its official debut alongside the Kirin 980 SoC on the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones.
EMUI 9.0 is promises a more natural and streamlined UI, and steps required to change different settings has been minimised too. As a result of these design changes, this version supports faster app launches and is 12.9 percent faster than its predecessors.
It features GPU Turbo 2.0 for performance boost during gaming, Uninterrupted Gaming mode, touch screen responsiveness and more. The new AR-based HiVision feature enables the camera app to recognise paintings and landmarks, and provide feedback to the user.
Another exciting new feature is Password Vault, where users can store encrypted passwords for services using face and fingerprint. To promote Digital Wellbeing, a new Digital Balance dashboard has been introduced to set time limit and track usage of the device.
Registration for the EMUI 9.0 Beta program is open to European Huawei device users. It is compatible with the latest Huawei devices such as HUAWEI P20 Pro, HUAWEI P20, HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro and HUAWEI Mate 10.
