Just days after the global launch of the P20, P20 Pro and Mate RS in Paris, Huawei has announced the launch of the Enjoy 8 mid-range series in its home country, China. The Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus, Enjoy 8 and Enjoy 8e all come with dual rear cameras and run Android 8.0 Oreo OS with EMUI 8.0 UI running on top. All three will also arrive in Black, Blue, Gold and Pink colours.
Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus
The Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus has best specs of the trio, as expected and has been released as the Huawei Y9 (2018) in other regions. Despite the Plus moniker, it has a smaller 5.93-inch TFT LCD display (down from 5.99-inch) with 2160 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) resolution and a 4,000mAh battery (non-removable).
The smartphone has a total of four cameras (quad cameras): 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and 16MP + 2MP dual selfie cameras. It relies on Huawei’s Kirin 659 octa-core processor paired with 4GB RAM and the option of either 64GB or 12GB built-in expandable storage.
The 4GB + 64GB storage option is priced at CNY 1699 (US$ 271) while the 4GB + 128GB option cost CNY 1899 (USD 302).
Huawei Enjoy 8
Housed in a metal plus glass body, the Huawei Enjoy 8 sports a 5.99-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) IPS display, rear fingerprint sensor, 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and a single 8MP front facing camera. It is fueled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB built-in storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD). Power is suplied by a 3,000mAh battery.
The 3GB + 32GB stroage variant costs CNY 1,299 (USD 207) while the 4GB + 64GB variant is available for CNY 1,499 (USD 239). PS: The Enjoy 8 is also relased as the Huawei Y7 Prime (2018) in some regions.
Huawei Enjoy 8e
The Huawei Enjoy 8e is the most affordable of the trio with a price tag of CNY 1,099 (US$ 175). It has a metal unibody build, 5.7-inch LCD display with (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ resolution, micro USB port, rear fingerprint sensor, front facing 5MP camera, 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and 3,000 mAh battery.
It is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD). The Enjoy 8e is exclusive to China as such does not include any pre-loaded Google app or service.
