Huawei has officially announced the Huawei G8 (former name would have been the Huawei Ascend G8) for China Telecom in China; the successor to the Huawei Ascend G7. The metal-clad G8 is available in Black, Gold and While Colours.
The Huawei G8 sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD display with a pixel density of 401ppi and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU. The device would be available in two RAM variants – 2GB and 3GB variants.
The 2GB variant of the G8 will be packed with 16GB space of internal storage while the 3GB variant will have 32GB space of internal storage; each storage variant is expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card slot.
On the rear, there is a 13MP camera with PureCel sensor and Dual LED Dual Tone flash. The front camera is a 5MP snapper for selfies and there is a fingerprint sensor just below the main camera for securing (unlocking) the device.
The Huawei G8 supports 4G LTE connectivity as well as standard options such as Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi. It comes with Dual SIM slots, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Huawei Emotion UI (EMUI) ontop and is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
The 2GB variant is priced equivalent to $370 and the 3GB variant of the Huawei G8 is priced at $434. There is no word on if the device would be launching outside China yet.
