Huawei has quietly announced the Huawei G9 Plus on China Mobile, exclusively in China. The phablet sized device is the follow up to this year’s Huawei G9 Lite (G9 Youth) and is very much similar to the HUAWEI Maimang 5 which made its debut in China last month (July).
Sporting a full metal unibody design with rounded edges and a 5.5-inch 2.5D Curved glass LCD display, the Huawei G9 Plus has screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), uses the USB Type-C port and is backed by a 3340mAH battery which should last up to two days of normal usage.
The smartphone runs EMUI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, supports 4G LTE (LTE Cat.6 and LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation) and relies on an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (MSM8953) processor clocked at 2.0GHz paired along with either 3GBor 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage space.
The Huawei G9 Plus sports a 16MP rear-facing camera with PDAF and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS); and a front facing 8MP camera for Selfies and video calling. It has Dual Nano SIM slots and below the main camera on the rear sits the fingerprint scanner for security authentication.
Available in Gold colour option only, the 3GB version of the Huawei G9 Plus costs CNY 2399 (US$ 361) while that of the 4GB is not stated yet. There is no word on availability outside China.
