Huawei choose the Star Wars Day (May 4th) to announce the Huawei G9 Youth (or Huawei G9 Lite according to other sources). It is already available for pre-order and will go on sale starting May 13th in China for a price tag of CNY 1599 (US$245) and CNY 1699 (US$261) for the different variants.
Believed to be a cheaper version of the flagship Huawei P9, the Huawei G9 Youth Edition sports a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display and is backed by a 3000mAh battery. It is housed in a shiny plastic body with metal frame, measures 7.5 mm thin and arrives in Black, Gold & White colour options.
On the inside, the G9 Youth relies on either the Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 or Hi-Silicon Kirin 650 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. The Dual rear camera has been replaced with a rear 13MP camera with Dual-LED flash and the front selfie camera is a 8MP snapper.
The Dual SIM enabled Huawei G9 Youth packs a rear placed fingerprint scanner, microSD card slot (up to 128GB) and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with EMUI skin on top but skips on the USB Type-C port. It supports 4G LTE connectivity, measures 146.8 x 72.6 x 7.5mm in dimensions, weighs 143 grams and is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
