Following the launch of the battery-centric Huawei G Power in Nigeria back in May, the company has launched another in form of the Huawei GR5 Mini. Available in Gold, Gray and Silver colour choices, the mid-range smartphone is priced at ₦85,000 and is expected to address the need of a power bank with its long lasting battery.
Backed by a huge 3000mAh battery with the company’s power saving tech on-board, the Huawei GR5 Mini is expected to last up to 48 hours (2 days) of light use and about 32 hours (1 day 8 hours) on heavy usage. It sports a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS LCD display and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
The Dual SIM 4G LTE device is powered by the in-house made Kirin 650 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage space, which happens to be expandable up to 128GB via microSD. The front 8MP camera with 77-degree wide angle view handles selfies & video calls.
The main snapper is a 13MP f/2.0 camera with 78-degree wide angle view, AutoFocus and 5P Aspheric lens array with blue glass filter. Equipped with a rear placed fingerprint sensor, the Huawei GR5 Mini weighs in at 156 grams, measures 147.1 x 73.76 x 8.3mm in dimensions and runs Emotion UI 4.1 based on Android Marshmallow OS.
Also, Huawei also announced the partnership with well known Nigerian designer, Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture to hand out free designer phone case for free, to customers who purchase the GR5 Mini.
