Huawei has officially announced the Honor 5C smartphone under its successful Honor sub-brand in China. The Kirin 650 SoC powered midrange device comes in 3G-only and 4G LTE variants. The Huawei Honor 5C 3G costs CNY 899 (US$ 139) while the Huawei Honor 5C LTE costs CNY 999 (US$ 154).
The Honor 5C sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution and is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 650 16nm produced processor (4 x Cortex A53 @ 1.7GHz + 4 x Cortex A53 @ 2GHz) with ARM Mali-T830 GPU with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. For additional stroage space, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
Equipped with Dual Micro SIM slots, a fingerprint scanner and a 3000mAh battery, the device measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3 mm in dimensions, weighs 156 grams and runs Emotion UI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Connectivity options available includes supports 4G LTE/3G, GPS/A-GPS/Glonass, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Micro-USB port.
For photography, the Huawei Honor 5C sports a rear facing 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. For selfies and video chats, the front camera is a 8-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture. No word on availability in other markets outside China.
