Remember the Huawei ATH-AL00 smartphone in the Honor series which surfaced on TENAA a couple of days ago with a sliding camera concept; that smartphone is expected to go official as the Huawei Honor 7i.
Huawei has released two teaser with one pointing to an event/announcement scheduled for August 20 (8.20) and another with the caption “You Can Change The Vision Together” which leads us to believe the camera centric Honor 7i will go official at this event.
The main attraction to the Huawei Honor 7i is the sliding camera concept; the device only has a rear facing camera with Dual Flash. But by sliding this rear camera up, it reveals a front facing camera with Dual LED flash. The resolution of the camera (both cameras) is still a mystery.
The camera has a dedicated shutter button and there is another button which not only slides up the camera but also act as a fingerprint scanner. The Honor 7i is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with Adreno 405 GPU but no word on the display.
Like the recently released Huawei Honor 7, it could be available in variants (RAM and Storage) – 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM and 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM. There should be a microSD card slot onboard too. The battery capacity of the Huawei Honor 7i is unknown yet but the device is expected to be priced between $322 and $403.
