Huawei is expected to announce the Honor 9 smartphone on Monday June 12 (tomorrow). The next iteration of the feature packed but affordable Honor Series is the successor to the Honor 8 (and variants such as Honor 8 Pro, Honor 8 Lite, Honor 8 Smart, Doctor Strange Edition) and expected to feature a dual camera setup just like the Huawei P10 and Huawei Nova 2.
According to a leaked promo from China, the Huawei Honor 9 is expected to feature two rear cameras – 12MP + 20MP (akin to the Nova 2 and P10) and a front 8MP selfie camera. It relies on an octa-core Kirin 960 processor (the same used on the P10 and P10 Plus) and packs 6GB of RAM. The company is also expected to release a cheaper version with 4GB of RAM.
The device with have 5.15-inch display with 2.5D glass, 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) screen resolution, microSD card slot (up to 128GB), USB Type-C, Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Huawei’s EMUI skin on top and a 3,1000mAh battery. It is expected to be marketed as an alternative Huawei P10 and should sell for $360. Available colour options include – Blue, Grey, SkyBlue, White and Yellow.
