Huawei’s Honor sub-brand has unveiled a new entry-level Bee series smartphone in India. The Honor Bee 2 is the successor to the Honor Bee from 2015 and retains the 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA display, 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage space, and microSD card slot (expandable up to 32GB).
Moving to the internals, the Huawei Honor Bee 2 is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and comes pre-installed with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.1. It packs Dual SIM slots, 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE support as well as Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
Photography is handled by a rear facing 5MP camera with Dual LED flash and 1.4um pixel size, alongside a front facing 2MP camera for selfies and video chats. It measures 134.11 x 66.7 x 9.9 mm in dimensions and depends on a 2100mAh battery which should get through several hours of mixed usage.
The Honor Bee 2 sports a ‘Rainbow Light’ around the rear camera which which lights up when there is any notification, incoming calls and other alerts. There is also a ’Smart Key’ function on the left-hand side, configured to launch a number of applications or the flashlight.
Available in Black, Gold and White colours, Huawei is selling the Honor Bee 2 across all Honor partner stores across India for Rs. 7499 (US$ 116). It also comes with a 15-month service warranty.
