The Huawei Honor NOTE 8 (HUAWEI EDI-AL10) has finally gone official. The huge screen phablet was unveiled at a special event in Beijing, China. it will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB built-in storage options for RMB 2,299(US$ 346), RMB 2,499 (US$ 376) and RMB 2,799 (US$ 421) respectively.
Sporting a full aluminium metal chassis, the 7.18mm thin HUAWEI Honor NOTE 8 sports a sizeable 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixels (WQHD) screen resolution resulting in a pixel density of 445ppi and backed by a 4500mAh Lithium polymer battery with 9V/2A Fast Charger.
Under the hood, the phablet is powered by the high-end Octa-Core HiSIlicon Kirin 955 (4 x 1.8GHz + 4 x 2.5GHz) processor with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, 4GB of RAM, Fingerprint sensor and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the company’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top.
For photography, there is a rear facing 13MP camera with RGWB Sensor, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), f/2.0 lens and a separate ISP. The front camera is a 8MP Sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity options on the device include – 4G LTE (TDD- and FDD-LTE), Bluetooth 4.2, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB OTG, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and USB OTG.
The HUAWEI Honor NOTE 8 has Hybrid Dual SIM slots (Nano + Nano) and adopts the USB 2.0 Type-C port for charging. The 32GB model is available in Glacier Silver colour only and the 128GB version in Gold only while the 64GB version comes in both colour options. Pre orders opens between August 1 and 8 and Sales begin on August 9.
