Along with the Honor 6X phablet with Dual Rear cameras and Honor Watch S1 smartwatch, Huawei announced the 8-inch Honor Pad 2 tablet. Sporting a metal frame with sturdy build and elegant design, it sports a 8-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA) screen resolution.
Available in Wi-Fi and 4G versions, the Huawei Honor Pad 2 relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 (MSM8939) 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with Adreno 405 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB built-in storage space, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash alongside a front facing 2MP camera for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE with Voice calling (optional), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS/GLONASS.
The Honor Pad 2 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with EMUI 4.1 and backed by a reasonable 4800mAh battery. It is priced at CNY 999 ($148) and CNY 1299 ($192) for the 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi only ones and at CNY 1499 ($222) for the 32GB model with 4G connectivity.
