Huawei Honor Tablet With 8-inch Display and Voice Calling Function Announced

Huawei has quietly announced the 8-inch Huawei Honor Tablet with 3G support and voice calling functionality in Malaysia. With stats revealing that tablets with voice calling features are very popular in Asia/Pacific regions with the exclusion of Japan, it is no surprise the company decided to launch its tablet there.

The Huawei Honor Tablet features a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) WXGA IPS display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM8212) processor clocked at 1.1GHz Adreno 304 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB/128GB.

Other features includes – 3G HSPA+ (speeds up to 42Mbps), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, rear facing 5-megapixels camera, front facing VGA (0.3-megapixels) camera and GPS/A-GPS. The slate has a metal alloy unibody design and packs a 4800mAh battery on-board which guarantees up to 300 hours of standby time plus the it takes 4 – 6 hours for the battery to go from 0 to 100% full. 

It measures 210.6 x 127.7 x 7.9 mm in dimensions, weighs 360 grams in size and runs on Android 4.3 with the company’s Emotion 1.6 UI ontop. The Huawei Honor Tablet is available for Pre-order starting September 29th (today) at a RM599.00 ($183 / €144) price tag.
