Huawei has officially announced the three new Huawei Mate 10 series smartphones – the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Porsche Design Mate 10 at an event in Germany, as expected. The trio come equipped with its in-house octa-core Kirin 970 processor with AI-specific Neural Network Processing Unit (NPU) and i7 co-processor.
Pre-installed with Android 8.0 Oreo OS with Emotion UI 8.0 on top, all three Huawei Mate 10 variants feature HDR 10 support, dual-lens Leica-branded 12MP (RGB) + 20MP (Monochrome) rear cameras with SUMMILUX-H lenses, OIS and f/1.6 aperture, front 8MP selfie camera, Dual SIM slots, fingerprint scanners and 4,000mAh battery with fast charging.
Similar to Samsung’s DeX Dock Station, Huawei’s Easy Projection feature connects the new Mate 10 series smartphone to a bigger screen (desktop) via a Type-C USB to HDMI adapter.
Huawei Mate 10
The 8.2 mm thick Mate 10 has a 5.9-inch 16:9 LCD screen with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, metal body frame with 3D glass front and back, 4GB of RAM, 64GB built-in expandable storage, 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint scanner (home button), splash resistance (IP53-certified) and USB Type-C port.
It retail for EUR 699 (USD 824) in late October and will be avaialble in over 15 countries of the world including Australia, China, Egypt, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain and UAE. Champagne Gold, Classic Black, Pink Gold and Mocha Brown are the available colour options.
Huawei Mate 10 Pro
The 7.9 mm thick Mate 10 Pro has a bigger 6-inch 18:9 FullView OLED screen with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels ) resolution and minimal bezels, 6GB of RAM, 128GB built-in storage, rear fingerprint scanner, water and dust resistance (IP67-certified) and IR sensor. It has the same battery capacity as the Mate 10.
The Mate 10 Pro comes in Midnight Blue, Mocha Brown, Pink Gold and Titanium Grey colours, and retail for EUR 799 (USD 942). It will arrive around mid-November in over 20 countries including Germany, France, Italy, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Porsche Design Huawei Mate 10
The special Porsche Design Mate 10 edition has the same specs as the Mate 10 Pro. It packs 6GB of RAM, 256GB built-in storage and comes in Diamond Black colour. As expected, there are branded accessories such as USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter and custom made leather case.
It will retail for a staggering EUR 1,395 (USD 1,695) and go on sale in Mid November.
