Huawei Mate 20 Series Smartphone Set To Debut On October 16

At the end of its press event at the IFA 2018 in Berlin, Huawei confirmed its upcoming Mate 20 Series smartphones – the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are expected to go official on October 16 in London. Both devices will be powered by the newly announced Kirin 980 7nm flagship chipset.

The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are expected to feature a fullscreen display with 18:9 aspect ratio, an in-display fingerprint sensor and wireless charging. The bigger Mate 20 Pro is confirmed to pack a triple camera sensor like the P20 Pro while the Mate 20 will have dual rear cameras as the P20 itself.

The Mate 20 would pack a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage and a large 4,200mAH battery. It is also expected to run Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.0 on top. While four different variants – HMA-AL00, HMA-L09, HMA-L29 and HMA-TL00 – are expected, there are no detailed specs of both models yet.

Huawei also took the opportunity to announce four new colours for the Huawei P20 Pro – Elegant Black, Golden Brown, Morpho Brown and Pearl White. The Elegant Black and Golden Brown colours are on a full-grain calfskin to give it a more genuine premium feel.
